How it all began
Lakefront Jewels started with a simple request from my cousin.
She asked me if I could make her a Phlebotomy bracelet with the Order of Draw she needed. Well, I told her I would try, and so I made it and she loved it.
Then my daughter started college to become a phlebotomist. And of course, she wanted a phlebotomy bracelet. Now hers was a completely different order from the one I had made before.
So, I started searching for why there were different Orders of Draw. I discovered there are different Orders of Draw because it depends on what facility you work for and what order they require. It is very important to pick up the correct order because cross-contamination could present incorrect patient test results.
I felt this could be a way to help phlebotomists and so I started selling these bracelets in my Etsy shop/website. And as they say, it just kept growing from there.
